There was general agreement that none of us would go to church today, but we watched Hymns of Praise, which was based on the new Methodist Hymn Book of 2011 in England. A Welsh tenor sang "Guide me, O Thou great Redeemer" and the tune was claimed to be the Welsh National Anthem. But they always sing "Land of Our Fathers" at he Rugby.
We watched the Women and Men's Marathon and many words were thrown at the screen when Callum Hastings collapsed twice close to the finish. Why did the paramedics take so long to arrive?
Wonderful results by all the Australians, though.
In the afternoon it was quite hot, but Aidan took Levi to a playground at the end of a bush walk and Malcolm and Lyn came along. Levi rode or walk all the way, probably 3 kms.
We watched the closing ceremony, the best of which were Archie Roach and Yothu Yindi, but we retired during the repetitive speeches.
