WEDNESDAY APRIL 11 2018

Our usual trick for catching the XPT to Brisbane is to walk with our luggage to Hats Street and take the  1:14pm bus to Woy Woy.  In Deepwater Plaza we had afternoon tea and Malcolm got a new battery for his Suunto watch/altimeter.  Lyn had tried a few shoe shops to buy a comfortable pair of walking shoes over the previous days without success, so she went into KMART and found the perfect pair marked down to $5!  We trolled our luggage back to Woy Woy Station and boarded a crowded four carriage train to Gosford. Blame Gladys?

We did not need to change platforms at Gosford so we looked for an Opal station to click off our journey.  There were none on the platform so we assumed you had to go up to the exit gates, click the card and not go through the gate.  Not likely.  Blame Gladys? Perhaps we can click off at Woy Woy on the way back and hope that confuses their system.

Malcolm pointed out the silliness of the system to a train driver who was walking along the platform and he blamed Gladys.  We swapped views on transport policies and he concluded with:"She is evil".

The XPT was on time and we settled in to our comfortable cabin, eating the nibbles provided and were in bed before 9pm.
